Pro Flight Simulator also is a fantastic plane and helicopter simulation game. It's one of the most popular flight simulator games online today.

Let's take a look at this product and see what are the pros and cons of this package.

It has been built to be as close to real life as possible. Everything from terrain, aircraft reactions, to planetary alignments & movements.

After playing dozens of other flight sims online I noticed the best about Pro Flight Simulator is the attention to detail, but not as good as our top pick.

X-Plane provides beautiful 3D cockpits and offers not only a airplanes, but also gliders and helicopters.

This is a quite good game for flight sim enthusiasts. I've played this for some time, but these days I prefer to play Virtual Pilot 3D.

4. Microsoft Flight Simulator X

This also one of the better flying simulator programs by Microsoft. It includes a graphics engine upgrade as well as compatibility with preview DirectX 10 and Windows technologies.

It also has amazing features like Tower control capability, cool missions and high detailed cities and airports. Though it´s worth a look at, it is already quite old and not up-to-date anymore, which is why I personally prefer the game Virtual Pilot 3D to it.

There are a lot of add ons available for purchase, but the game itself is already very expensive and quite outdated.

For less money you get Virtual Pilot 3D with worldwide scenery and free updates and much more features.

Being able to fly has been a dream of humanity ever since. The invention of airplanes has made this dream possible. However for most of the people steering an airplane themselves remains something quite unreachable or impossible, unless you opt for the virtual version and use a flight simulator game.

I have this dream too, I want to become a pilot, I want to steer my own little airplane. Hopefully this will dream will become reality in the near future.

Thinking of this dream, it is no wonder that Flight Simulator Games have become very popular in the last years. Now everyone can simulate to fly at the comfort of their home, just with a normal home computer and a good flight sim software.

But how can you find the best flight sim out of all the different ones, that are offered on the market?

I know, that is quite a difficult task. I have played flight simulator games since many years, and over the time have tried so many of them. Some work great, some have horrible graphics, some are buggy and crash all the time. I spent quite a lot of money on these games. For most of those flight sims it was just money thrown into the trash can.

Although there were some really good ones as well, for example the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, which was my first flight simulator game I ever played. It was a really fantastic game, but today it is a bit outdated. FSX, that came out in 2006, was the follow up flying simulator from Microsoft, that had some more missions and for the first time displayed the world as a globe, but unfortunately the details of the graphics have not improved very much in most parts of the world, in some parts I think they even got worse!

I wanted to find a better Flight Simulator Game, where I didn't had to buy expensive add ons or pay for updates or extra airplanes, that were not included. I have lots of friends who are also into flight simulation games, so a few month ago, one of my friends showed me his new flight simulator, called Virtual Pilot 3D. I played it on his computer, and was really fascinated by it. The graphics were awesome, very realistic. 

When I came home I instantly bought this new flight sim online and downloaded and installed it on my PC. The cool thing about this game is, that you get so many different airplanes with it, i think it are more than 200 planes and helicopters you can choose. You can fly around the whole globe, and daylight and weather are adjusted to real life conditions. That means, if you are flying over New York, and it's currently stormy and rainy weather there, it will be the same in the game. How great is that?

Real Time Weather and Military Mapping Data

The scenery in this game is based on military mapping data and is unbelievably realistic. The best I have ever seen. The cockpit controls in this flight simulator game are based on real life cockpits, which helps me to learn a lot about real flying, even before starting my pilot classes. I also found the responds to control inputs are very realistic. If you fly a big jumbo jet you really can feel the lag in the response to any direction changes.


I have played this game for many weeks now, and since then have never touched Microsoft’s Flight Sim again. Virtual Pilot 3D is jut sooo much more realistic.

Hello, so you came to my blog, and would like to know a bit more about me?

Well, my name is Steve, I’ m 25  and I am a big aviation fan. Since many years I love to play Flight Simulator Games. I play them mostly alone, but sometimes online with my friends in multiplayer mode. This is much more fun!

I started about 7 years ago with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9). I also played Microsoft FSX and others. But today there are much better airplane simulator games. But more about them in later posts.

Anyhow, with this blog I want to help people who just start to play flight simulator games, to find the best one available. Because I know, it can be quite tough to find the best between all the many flight sims on the market.

This blog also could be something like a platform to exchange ideas about aviation and to get in contact with other “addicts” ;)

Through these games I learned a lot about flying, and now I’m saving money to finally let my dream come true, to get a pilot license. You know that this is really expensive, especially if you are a young student like me, who is almost always broke. But I won’t give up on my dream!
